Join us for the latest webinar on the SET series on Thursday, 1st October from 3:30 pm – 4.30 pm IST!
The introduction of Distributed Renewable Energy Generation into the existing network brings several benefits, as such reduction in T&D losses, improvement in voltage levels and deferred infrastructure investment costs. On the other hand, it also poses a challenge to the utilities in terms of grid integration, especially with high levels of solar energy penetration. This can lead to operational challenges to the utility, such as voltage violations, exceeding line current carrying capacity, etc.
In this webinar, we will discuss the technical and financial impacts of different solar energy penetrations, both utility category and consumer category solar. A case study based on actual data from Erode substation will be presented.
This webinar is based on the report: ‘Assessing the Techno-commercial Impacts of Distributed Solar Energy Generation: A Case Study for Tamil Nadu’ recently released in August, 2020 as part of the Sustainable Energy Transformation, Tamil Nadu (SET-TN) series of documents and activities. SET aims to facilitate higher clean energy deployment in the State by working with stakeholders in order to find sustainable and equitable solutions. SET is a collaborative initiative by Auroville Consulting (AVC), Citizen Consumer and civic Action Group (CAG), the World Resources Institute India (WRI).
