Auroville Consulting designs training programs for groups of students and professionals around various aspects of sustainability. The programs contain a good mixture of theory and practice and can be planned throughout the year. The workshop duration typically is 1 to 14 days.

The AVD Masonry course is a practical, hands-on week in which trainees study constructive principles and techniques, and build various types and scales of arches, vaults and domes.

This workshop is aimed at introducing the art of paper making. Participants will be shown the different techniques for preparing the fibers, making the pulp, couching the sheets, etc. They will try their hands at these different stages of paper making. It will be at once a learning experience and a creative one.

Compressed Stabilised Earth Block (CSEB) is composed of a mix of soil, sand and water, stabilised with ~5% cement, and compressed manually. This technique aims to make extensive use of raw earth as the main building material, thereby utilizing low-cost, low-carbon, local materials and minimizing the use of imported industrial building materials.

Exploring Auroville Architecture is developed by Auroville Consulting in cooperation with local experts in order to share our experience in architecture with the world outside. During the 3-day workshop participants will get to experience the various architectural expressions at Auroville and the learning that came during the building process.
