Earth and bamboo are two materials which have been used together for a wide range of traditional construction techniques in Southeast Asia. They are locally abundant, affordable and with a very low carbon footprint. They are known to be materials of the people. They can be used for crude self-construction or can be engineered with high precision.
This 3-day workshop focuses on building with cost-efficient, environment-friendly, and sustainable building materials, especially appropriate for our climate with the world’s oldest and widely used building material -mud, locally available, and reclaimed materials followed by interactive sessions and site visits.
