Clean Energy Management
This comprehensive environment workshop is designed to empower participants with the latest knowledge and practical skills for designing, implementing, and managing clean energy projects in both organizational and residential settings. Having a strong emphasis on rooftop solar energy, the workshop will also furnish participants with a foundational understanding of the prevailing policy and regulatory landscape, as well as insights into financing mechanisms and risk management strategies. Attendees will acquire practical knowledge from Auroville experts, gaining insights into integrating renewable energy, electrifying transportation, and achieving building decarbonization. Additionally, the workshop will showcase case studies offering homeowners, facility managers, policymakers, planners, and local authorities valuable insights into clean energy management and decarbonisation strategies.
Context
The energy sector is the single largest greenhouse gas emission contributor globally accounting for more than 80% of the total Co2 emissions. Curiously the electricity sector is also deemed by sector experts as one of the easiest sectors to be decarbonized. Technological advances enable us to power an electricity grid that is 100% carbon-free. The advent of the prosumer, the producing consumer, introduces distributed energy resources such as rooftop solar and behind-the-meter energy storage systems and has the potential to democratize the ownership of power generation assets. Instead of having a single large power generation plant at a remote location, every roof can have its own electricity generation system. After all, the sun shines on all roofs and is a truly distributed energy source.
Key takeaway
Leave equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the dynamic landscape of renewable energy implementation in diverse contexts.
