Paper Making Workshop
In a one day paper making workshop the participants will visit Auroville paper factory shortly and in the morning and afternoon sessions will practice paper making with cotton pulp and will make decorative paper-sandwiches of flowers and leaves, press and flat drying their paper sheets. You can pick up the dried papers after two days or we can post them to you.
Fee: Rs. 3540 ( Including GST) per person
TOPICS:
- Use of vat, mould and deckle.
- Sheet forming using cotton rag and other fibers.
- Build other materials into the paper.
- Press and dry the sheets.

9:30 –10:00 Visiting Auroville Papers Factory
10:00 –10:15 Tea Time
10:15 –11:00 A short introduction about paper making – tools and equipment – different fibers, materials and additives – Making the first sheet of paper
11:00 — 11:30 Practicing paper making with cotton pulp – making thin and thick sheets of paper – Hand forming
11:30 –12:00 Pressing and flat drying the sheets
12:00 – 13:30 Lunch time ( Your self)
13:30 – 14:15 Embedding or making sandwiches using decorative items, leaves and flowers, paper making with different mould sizes
14:15 –15:00 How to make recycle paper, more practices using cotton and recycled pulp
15:00 –15:15 Tea Time
15:15 –16:00 Paper making with stencil and other useful techniques- Pressing and flat drying the sheets
